Tostada Shells

I love Mexican food but I do not like to use all the oil that clogs up the arteries so…..I try to find an alternative way to make an entree without all the fat. For example tostadas shells are usually purchased at the store or made at home by frying a corn tortilla flat in oil. While yes, I will agree with you they are tasty , I just can’t see why we need to use all that icky oil. So I tried something that I think is comparable in taste without all the oil.

Preheat oven to 400. Take corn tortillas and lay as many as you can flat on a cookie sheet probably about 6. Spray them with Pam cooking spray or you can get a spray that is olive oil. Lightly salt them and put in the oven for 10 minutes. Turn over with tongs and I didn’t respray them they seem to have enough on them. Keep watching them until firm and lightly toasted. Watch them because they will burn easily. Note; (they will not get as firm as a chip but they need to be somewhat firm)
